2025 NZ Commercial Project Awards – Bronze Winner
Project Overview:
Grain Buds Auckland redefines retail design with its striking kiosk concept, featuring 20mm-thick translucent jade glass—used for the first time in New Zealand. The panels, custom-made in China, are LED-backlit to create a soft, ambient glow that elevates the structure's visual impact. Drawing inspiration from the BVLGARI Boutique in Shanghai, the kiosk achieves a luxurious aesthetic that sets a new standard in retail presentation.
Innovative Use of Linnovate Jade Glass:
The facade is crafted using Linnovate Jade Glass, a standout feature that delivers the refined look of traditional jade while supporting sustainable building practices. The semi-translucent material not only diffuses light beautifully but also draws attention from passersby with its distinctive glow and texture.
Construction Challenges and Solutions:
Despite several technical challenges—including uneven flooring, a freestanding kiosk design, and the logistics of handling 225kg glass panels—Unique Constructions successfully delivered a flawless outcome. Meticulous planning and expert coordination enabled the team to stay within budget while executing a highly complex build.
