Following an extensive education in business commerce and management, Lisa Gasperotti founded Sourceful in 1997. This bespoke service bridges the gap between architects, developers, homeowners, and installers in the Australian architecture and design market.
“Our unique combination of design, procurement and fitting services, I find, delivers a more seamless experience for specifiers and homeowners,” says Lisa.
Sourceful provides personalised design services and custom furnishing solutions for both residential and commercial projects. Explore Sourceful's projects, such as a luxury multi-residential cinema in Melbourne and a personal golfing retreat in greater Victoria.
Located in Melbourne’s prestigious Freshwater Place residential tower, Sourceful worked on the Residents’ Theatre housed within. In collaboration with developers Nash Management Group and the Co-Lab Design Studio, Lisa and her team supplied fabrics, technical advice and support for the quality acoustics required for the project and the bespoke velvet curtains.
“The project included creating 21 custom-made acoustic panels created and manufactured right here in Melbourne,” says Lisa. “Each panel was fitted with cutouts for power points and stepped platforms.”
Working to a tight timeframe, the Sourceful team collaborated with the audiovisual team, carpet layers, carpenters, electricians, painters, and project coordinators to complete the acoustic panels and black velvet curtains. “We re-measured multiple times as the specifications of the theatre room kept evolving,” says Lisa.
Fully automated for convenience, this desirable addition to the residential tower offers its residents a private cinema experience.
“The Cups is aptly named as it’s a private golfing retreat for its owners,” says Lisa. “They’re obviously mad keen golfers, but ultimately, it's an entertainer's paradise."
Sitting on hectares of lush bushland, manicured greens and a rolling sea breeze, Lisa was involved with the builder of The Cups from concept through to design, manufacture and installation.
“We completed the window furnishings portion of the project and also custom-made soft furnishings pieces, such as the expansive theatre room doors adorned in bold scarlet leather and brass handles,” says Lisa.
Lisa noted that the furnishings selected for this home were specifically chosen for the property's elevation. “The home is located in a marine environment, it's very windy, it's very sunny, and the home faces due west,” she says. “Therefore, all the furnishings needed to service those harsh climatic conditions.”
Sourceful was also tasked with manufacturing a custom modular suite for the project. “The modular has a 10-year warranty and was made using an Australian hardwood frame. The suite is fully sprung with dove-tailed corners…it is beautifully manufactured,” says Lisa.
The roller blinds in The Cups project are crafted from the highest quality, European-made fabric designed to keep the heat out in summer and ensure the space is cosy in winter.
Along with European fabrics, the window furnishings are equipped with Somfy motorisation and automated with Cbus, a desirable luxury addition to the retreat.
“The addition of Somfy motorisation assisted the clients in the ease of use of furnishings in their home,” says Lisa. “Not only are the curtains and blinds lovely to look at, but they’re also practical as the windows are numerous and expansive throughout this home.”
Due to the proximity to the ocean, marine-grade steel chains were selected for the manually operated window furnishings.
Lisa remarks, “I truly believe that thoughtful, practical and beautiful window furnishings add intrinsic value––not only to the lifestyle of the inhabitants but also to the value of the property itself.”
Sourceful’s extensive projects include luxury residential and multi-residential developments, bespoke corporate re-furnishments and education facilities.
