It is well known that the architectural, construction and design industries have many rules and regulations to follow – and rightfully so. After all, projects can become catastrophic and costly without the correct products and proper installation techniques.
That said, it can be overwhelming to remember all this vital information, especially if you are new to the field. This is why Metroll, Australia's leading manufacturer and supplier of quality steel building products, launched the Met-TECH.
An online repository of invaluable information
"We wanted to provide the architects, engineers and the builder communities with a one-stop information library that meets the modern times with real-time, accessible technical product data to support them with their critical product specification," explains Metroll's National Business Development Manager, Paul Jensen.

Met-TECH acts as a "ready reckoner" of sorts. The pages feature all product categories from roofing, structural products, rainwater goods and a host of other key information points. The page also features several categories from roofing to roller door product information.
Each link is in a portable document format (PDF), making it easy to access or save to your project.
You can access information about exact measurements, load capacities, wind loads, performance, span, installation techniques and general product information, and more.
To get the most out of this information hub, Paul suggests downloading the Met-TECH icon (left) to your desktop, so it is readily available as needed.

Industry experts review and update the information on Met-TECH to ensure the data is current. Any data featured in the documents is collated from reputable sources, including James Cook University, and signed off by professional engineers.
"Met-TECH is regularly reviewed and rigorously tested by our team of experts in alignment with the current industry regulations. All products conform to the Australian standards as noted in the National Construction Code," says Paul.
By creating this online resource, Paul hopes that all associated communities within the building and construction sector will use Met-TECH as a "quick reckoner to access all their product's technical details and needs, assisting them in navigating their way through the design process."
