Located on bustling Oxford Street in Paddington, Sydney, sits the serene space of Momo Handles' new showroom.
The showroom comprises of a ‘crazy paving’ display wall, travertine benchtop, a display of solid brass products on raw stone platforms, and discussion areas encircling travertine stone tables.
All these refined elements are set in a scene of organic colours in woodland brown, pale stone, and muted olive green to reflect Momo Handles’ brand refresh and architectural style.
Lane and Grove, an interior architect firm based in Sydney’s eastern suburbs was entrusted to bring Momo Handle’s vision to life.
The marketing director at Momo Handles was eager to create a destination that embraced organic elements while providing an opportunity to elevate the Momo Handle selection process, offering visitors a memorable experience.
“We've exhibited at various shows and in other people’s showrooms over the years, and we noticed that once people experience the quality of our products, they’re enthralled,” says Marc Bennett, Marketing Director at Momo Handles.
“We wanted a space that felt like an extension of our brand, offering people the 'wow' experience and showcasing our quality in an architecturally designed setting.”
Marc notes that Momo Handles is elevating into a design-focused brand, and its recent brand refresh was the perfect time to engage Lane and Grove interior architect firm.
“We presented our new brand direction, and they took that essence and ran with it, helping us create the showroom that aligned with our vision and elevated our customer experience," he says.
The showroom entices street-level pedestrians passing its viewing window—a sheer curtain backdrop, stone bench top displaying the brand’s latest product designs perched on organic-shaped stone platforms—to enter through an oversized timber door touching the brand’s iconic bronze pull handle.
Inside, visitors are greeted with additional luxurious design elements, such as the showroom’s travertine benchtop, mirroring the materials used in the seating areas. While ‘crazy paving’ features prominently on the back wall, handle display and front display case.
The cabinetry is finished with textured paint and stucco is used on the handle boards to create a contrast that enhances the showroom's overall textural appeal.
“It’s all about creating a tactile experience,” says Marc. “We also have an inset area on the benchtop with leather lining for our loose sample display where clients can feel and pick up samples. It’s a well-curated space designed to engage the senses.”
“Inside the cabinet, we have miniature boards in drawers that slide out, so if a customer wants to see something not displayed on the walls, we can easily show it,” Marc adds.
Joining Momo Handles’ established cabinet handle collection, the showroom introduces its new line of architectural door hardware, including door levers and entry pulls.
The new door hardware, crafted from solid brass, is available in the same five finishes as Momo Handles’ cabinet pulls and handles, allowing for a consistent design aesthetic throughout the home.
Marc explains, “With the release of the new door hardware, we will push further into the architectural design space while still maintaining ties with our trade customers."
“Until now, we've focused on cabinet handles, but we've just released architectural door hardware, including door levers and entry pulls. They’re on display in the showroom and will be in stock next month," adds Marc.
Momo Handles’ solid brass collection and matching new architectural door hardware are available in the brand’s five core finishes: brushed satin brass, matt black, bronze, dull brushed nickel and dark brushed brass.
Marc notes, “Handles and fittings are items that people interact with daily, so having consistency in quality and design enhances the experience."
The new Momo Handles showroom is designed to assist homeowners and design professionals with handle selections. It features clever integrated features, such as the pull-out boards in the display cabinet, which allow customers to explore product options beyond what is displayed on the walls.
This thoughtful design reflects Momo Handles’ commitment to providing a comprehensive and accessible experience for specifiers.
