Since 1991, Hulena Architects has been at the forefront of bespoke residential design, delivering innovative projects across New Zealand and the Pacific.
Since its founding in 1991, Hulena Architects has delivered a diverse portfolio of innovative projects throughout New Zealand and the Pacific. Focusing on bespoke residential designs, the firm prides itself on cultivating strong relationships with clients, ensuring that their visions are not only realised but exceeded.
Brent Hulena, Director of Hulena Architects, shares that the firm strives to “lift expectations, so clients can realise more out of their project than they thought they could have, lifting the quality of the outcome.”
He adds, “A build is a huge commitment financially, and for some that haven’t built before, it’s really important for us to support them through the process.”
With a strong presence online, from ArchiPro to Instagram, Hulena Architects has integrated ArchiPro as a key channel for showcasing their unique portfolio of projects to an active audience of homeowners and professionals. While their Instagram offers a snapshot view of each project, ArchiPro allows Hulena Architects to carefully curate a “walkthrough” experience, using images that capture the essence of each space—this storytelling approach invites viewers to explore and connect with each project, “resulting in a more holistic understanding of individual project,” says Brent.
By selectively featuring projects that embody the firm’s innovative nature, Hulena Architects leverages ArchiPro’s platform and reach to elevate and extend their brand, aligning with their reputation for creativity and attention to detail. These projects serve as both an inspiration and a brand statement, capturing the attention of viewers seeking bespoke architecture with a unique and individual outcome.
With a steady volume of projects published on their profile, including nine in September and October, Hulena Architects has seen an increase in unique visitors, supported by their ongoing efforts to optimise their profile. They also harness other features unique to ArchiPro, like the Dynamic Tagging system, where the 50+ product and professional tags on their projects create a multiplying effect by extending visibility of their brand across the profiles of those that are tagged. Similarly, they’ve also expanded their presence on ArchiPro with the ‘Network’ Feature, making their profile visible in another 40 additional places across the platform.

Reflecting on ArchiPro from a homeowner’s perspective, Brent draws an interesting comparison to traditional media: “Historically, we got a lot of work from magazines, and people would come into our office with many cuttings from magazines forming a large part of their briefs. We like to think of ArchiPro like that in the digital space… It’s a great way for clients to formulate their briefs”.
Through collaboration with ArchiPro’s Platform Specialists, Hulena Architects continues to refine its profile for enhanced visibility, drawing on insights shared during ArchiPro’s fortnightly Drop-In Sessions. By consistently updating their profile, tagging products and engaging with platform resources, Hulena Architects exemplifies a proactive approach to digital marketing, ensuring the evolution of their brand and fostering their client relationships.
