Learn about our building process

Whether you’re looking to build your first home, an architectural design & build or a smaller home we are here to make it happen. Let‘s look at each stage you will go through when you build with Nixon Homes.

Let’s talk!

First off you’ll meet with Cameron, our site and project manager. This initial meeting is to get a feel for your plans and build aspirations, goals and budget. We’ll talk you through the process at this initial meeting.

Design

After paying a small deposit, you will meet with Cameron and our designer, together we will turn your design ideas into a house plan. This may take several meetings to get the plan just right. During this phase you will also have access to our colour consultant and interior designer.

Quote

We knuckle down a fixed price based off the final house plans along with all design specifications, this is down to the tapware! We will be there to guide you through these decisions with as little or as much help as you require. This stage will take a good few weeks to ensure we can meet all your aspirations.

Contract

Once we have decided on the design specifications and final house plan we will present you with a fixed price and a master builder contract, this will provide you with peace of mind throughout the rest of the project.

Consent to Construction

Alongside our designer we will apply and manage the building consent (and if needed resource consent) process for you. Once building consent has been granted by council the real fun starts!

We kick off construction, during this phase Cameron again will be your single point of contact throughout the build, supporting you through the process and communicating regularly with build updates.
