“Unlike other technologies, such as those based on the use of titanium dioxide, the protective shield within Protect is always active, day and night and doesn’t require sunlight for activation,” says Carl.

“Studies have shown that Protect is effective against 99.9 per cent of bacteria and is guaranteed to remain effective for the life of the product.

“The continuous antimicrobial action of Protect also prevents the formation of biofilms—colonies of bacteria that form a slimy coating on surfaces—which are difficult to clean and can compromise the tile itself by assisting the growth of smelly mildew.”
