Finding the right pit for your drainage system can be overwhelming at times, especially when there are so many options! To assist, we’ve put together a short guide of our Traditional Pit and Uni-Pit ranges to help you decide on the best solution for your domestic drainage project.

RELN Uni-Pits VS Traditional Pits

RELN Uni-Pits have a shallow design and are the fastest and easiest pits to install. Designed to fit directly into the stormwater line via 90mm or 100mm PVC Pipe, Uni-Pits are an ideal residential Surfacewater drainage solution. The unique vortex design and built-in debris collector helps clear water fast, whilst preventing pipe blockage. This design also eliminates any pooling water, which is a common breeding place for mosquitoes. Risers are not required for the Uni-Pit range, as vertical PVC pipe can be cut to the necessary height.

Recommended applications for each Uni-Pit below:

  • Series 200: Perfect for paved areas around the home and pool, in domestic pathways, in garden beds and below taps.
  • Series 300: Perfect for domestic & commercial paved areas and driveways.
  • Series 450: Perfect for driveways, car parks and slow traffic commercial areas.

Traditional Pits have a fixed depth and typically side outlets for the pipework. By contrast, Uni Pits have a single bottom outlet. This makes it easier to set Uni Pits to the correct top surface level as a pipe is used for the riser to get the perfect height. So much easier than calculating the height to cut in the side of a Traditional Pit where the pipe needs to exit.

Recommended applications for each Traditional Pit below:

  • Series 250: Perfect under taps and downpipes, as a junction box, in domestic pathways, in lawns or at the end of a surface water drainage channel.
  • Series 300: Perfect for pedestrian, light vehicle traffic and large household surface water drainage systems.
  • Series 450: Perfect for pedestrian, light vehicle traffic and large household surface water drainage systems.
