Durable in harsh climates and easy to install, veneer stone can be used indoors and out – from pool areas and fireplace surrounds, to feature walls and fences.

Stone has been used in construction for centuries. Known for its durability and natural, timeless aesthetic, it’s little wonder that it remains a popular choice in residential and commercial projects today.

Incorporating stone in a design project can be costly, but advancements in technology mean slimline veneers are cost-effective and easy to install – while achieving the same look and feel as real stone.

Measuring only 20-43mm thick, Veneer Stone’s products all come in tile form with prefabricated corners and capping also available to achieve the appearance of solid stone.

“Our stone is made from a blend of crushed sandstone with less than one per cent natural colour pigments,” says Renae Kodsy from Veneer Stone.

“The colours and textures are inspired by native stone, such as McLaren Vale limestone, Victorian bluestone and Sydney sandstone. Our stunning collection of stone veneers allows you to create contemporary or classic designs with the distinctive look and relaxed feel of solid stone walling.”

A low maintenance option, stone veneers can be used indoors and out, and tiled over many internal and external surfaces. Ideal for the Australian climate, it’s also highly durable and designed to withstand dramatic changes in temperature.

“It’s the perfect solution for your stone walling with less impact on the environment than solid stone,” says Renae. “By blending creativity with practicality, we ensure that our designs are not only visually stunning, but also functionally optimised. With our products, architects and homeowners can confidently bring their creative visions to life.”

“Stone, by nature, exudes a charm that’s hard to replicate. It brings a sense of the outdoors inside and provides a beautiful, organic touch to your home. From rugged and rustic to sleek and modern, the diverse range of stone types, colours and textures allows homeowners to create a design aesthetic that aligns with their preferences and complements the existing decor,” says Renae.

A feature stone wall at the entrance brings instant ‘wow-factor’ and individuality to your home. By illuminating the texture of the stone with downlights, it can be enjoyed both day and night.

A stone fireplace instantly becomes a focal point in any room, and a range of customisations are available.

“From the type of stone – limestone, marble, granite or sandstone – to the style of application – stacked, veneered, carved – there’s a wealth of choices available to homeowners. You can opt for a dramatic floor-to-ceiling installation or a more subtle stone surround. The colours, textures and designs are so diverse that it’s easy to find a stone that complements your existing decor and reflects your personal style,” says Renae.

“Our Ledgestone collection comes in seven different colours,” says Renae. With the look of dry stacked individual stones, this is a popular design for property fences, estate entrances and between townhouses as privacy walls.

The interlocking panels allow for easy installation, even with complex designs.

Veneer Stone’s Dry Stack collection is another popular choice for this application and is available in eight colours – travertine, slate, sandstone, natural grey, granite, earth, bluestone and limestone.

Crafted for the Australian weather and lifestyle, Veneer Stone’s products can be used as a stylish feature around pool areas, outdoor entertainment spaces and even bathrooms.

“Veneer Stone can be installed around wet areas, however, continued exposure to chlorine and other chemicals may eventually affect the colouration of the products. When frequently exposed to water, we recommend protection with Ven Seal Ultra WB sealer,” says Renae.

One of the most common ways architects and designers incorporate veneer stone into projects is a building’s facade and columns. The natural colours can mimic the surrounding environment and will change in appearance as the sun moves – shading and illuminating the rock, accentuating the texture.
