Natural stone is a favoured choice for kitchens and bathrooms, offering both timeless beauty and durability. ArchiPro recently spoke with RMS Natural Stone and Ceramics, an innovative supplier of natural stone solutions for over three decades, to delve deeper into the current trends of natural stone and how RMS Natural Stone and Ceramics is leading the charge in providing bespoke solutions to their creative clientele.
According to Emina Vlatko, Sales Manager at RMS Natural Stone and Ceramics, warmer tones now reign supreme in the design landscape. Vlatko notes, "The trends growing for benchtops are warmer natural stone colours like the stunning and very durable Taj Mahal Quartzite, the warmer Calacatta Gold, and even granites are making a comeback."
Vlatko further emphasised the allure of these stones, stating, "Taj Mahal Quartzite is well-known for its amazing look and strong durability, making it a top pick for people who want to combine luxury and strength."
This resurgence of warmth in palettes suggests a departure from the cool greys that once dominated the scene.
“The flooring and wet areas favour ivory and neutral hue leanings like Crema Nova Limestone, Crema Marfil Marble, Travertine and, my favourite, Andorra Marble,” says Vlatko.
“Crema Nova Limestone is all class with warm beige tones that provide the perfect touch for various interior styles. Crema Marfil Marble offers elegance with its creamy undertones and soft veining. Andorra Marble offers versatility and creates stunning floors.”
Vlatko continues, “It’s not just about palette though; it's about bringing the beauty of nature into our homes to create an environment that is warm and comfortable. Stone continues to increase in popularity, making it an ideal choice for architects and designers who want to make a lasting impression with quality.”
RMS Natural Stone and Ceramics prides itself on its meticulous selection process, finely attuned to market demands and aesthetic preferences. Vlatko explains, "Our selections are made by embracing the current trends; however, we try to strike a balance so that our collections do not become ‘too trendy’."
This commitment to balance ensures that their inventory remains relevant while eschewing fleeting fads.
The company’s hands-on approach underscores its commitment to quality and authenticity. "We attend natural stone fairs and visit the quarries to view a large selection of natural stone slabs in the flesh," says Vlatko
This dedication to firsthand evaluation ensures that only the finest materials make their way into RMS Natural Stone and Ceramics' collection.
The renovation features a blend of sharp steel profiles with tumbled stone and handmade tiles, set against a monochromatic palette softened by romantic linens, creating a sophisticated interplay of light and texture.
RMS Natural Stone and Ceramics’ diverse range of materials, coupled with innovative finishes and treatments, catalyses creativity, encouraging design professionals to push the boundaries of design.
"We provide customisation options to designers and architects to create one-of-a-kind pieces or patterns specific to their project needs. This kind of customisation allows them to be creative and push the boundaries of what natural stone can do, enabling them to use stone in an exciting, highly personalised and unexpected manner,” says Vlatko.
Furthermore, RMS Natural Stone and Ceramics’ emphasis on sustainability resonates with specifiers, fostering a collective effort towards greener, more socially responsible design practices. “This increased focus on sustainable design and our commitment to providing high-quality, natural materials that are consciously sourced aligns with like-minded designers and architects," says Vlatko
A carefully curated selection of natural stone materials, including marble, limestone, travertine, quartzite and granite, along with the extensive variety, allows professionals to find the exact colour, texture or pattern they desire. “Our extensive selection means that specifiers do not have to compromise their vision of the design,” says Vlatko.
The Ingot project, by Stewart + Stewart Design, showcases an impressive transformation of a waterfront home, initially focusing on key areas like the entry, main suite, and terrace but eventually encompassing the entire three-story residence.
A standout feature of this project is the use of Imperial White marble from RMS Marble, which brings an air of elegance and luxury throughout the house. Additionally, the entryway is distinguished by its use of Absolute Black Granite, also from RMS Marble, creating a striking contrast that welcomes visitors with sophistication and style.
The Orde project design merges durability with elegance by incorporating Porto di Mare Marble for the flooring and Castillo Marble from RMS Marble for the kitchen benchtops. The renovation features a blend of sharp steel profiles with tumbled stone and handmade tiles, set against a monochromatic palette softened by romantic linens, creating a sophisticated interplay of light and texture.
Natural stone’s inherent beauty and versatility continue to shape the contours of modern interior design. RMS Natural Stone and Ceramics are at the forefront of this movement, creating endless possibilities where innovation, curated selection and tradition converge to create spaces as timeless as they are captivating.
