A new college campus designed by Architectus has resulted in a growing school roll and a space that's supporting students to succeed.
The idea behind the layout of the buildings was to create a central courtyard and gathering space, to increase a sense of safety and community.
The whare is anchored at the centre of the school.
Playful elements, such as a climbing wall, add to the student experience.
The creativity and innovation hub features blue walls and stairs, and it's the heart of the 'maker' spaces.
The acoustic wall panels in the multipurpose hall are teal, helping students and visitors with navigation.
The creativity and innovation hub is sited on the street front, and features extensive glazing, so that the community can look in and feel connected with what the students are creating.
The state-of-the-art library facility is a welcome update for students.
The gymnasium features yellow AUTEX acoustic panelling on the ceiling, which helps reduce noise.
The learning hub features green wall panels and stairs.
The learning hub encompasses classrooms and the staffroom space.
Break out learning spaces and multipurpose spaces support different styles of learning.
The school theatre is a custom designed space to celebrate music, arts and culture performances.
The student roll has dramatically increased since the school opened; and the students are making use of the central gathering spaces as intended.
The exterior Symonite panelling supplied by The Building Agency features the multiple different hues of the Port Hills in the background.
The overhangs of the buildings provide the perfect space to congregate when it rains.
