“Under the new legislation put forward in March this year, adopted sometime in April and which took effect on July 1st, benchtops cannot have a combination of crystalline silica and resins – this is deemed to be an engineered stone. Effectively, to become a sintered stone product, a natural material is taken and crushed down to a very fine raw material. Through the use of heat and pressure, a slab of stone is created,” says Greg Bailey, Lead Product Engineer at Sitro Group Australia.

Not only is this stone safer to work with and durable, but it also has a high-end look and feel.

“Compared to engineered stone, you end up with a bit better appearance as sintered stone looks more like porcelain, rather than the often glossy finish of engineered stone.”

The sintered stone benchtops are sleek, durable and safe.

Using the barbecue as the starting point, the modules can be selected based on the size and budget available to work with. The barbecue module is also compatible with traditional cabinetry.

“Setting up your barbecue kitchen is relatively easy. If your barbecue kitchen is LPG, the only thing you do need to provide is 240-volt AC mains power to the barbecue for the interior hood lights. If your barbecue kitchen includes a sink module, mains water would need to be plumbed and drainage provided. If you opt for a natural gas barbecue, you will need to arrange a gas plumber to fit off the barbecue. More information is available on our website,” says Greg.

A sink module is available to integrate into the design for easy water access when cooking outside.
