With minimalist structural forms and a gorgeous colour palette, MCM House's new Wild Things collection is a brilliant addition to any backyard.

Made for long summer evenings, chilled drinks, and barbeque meals, the Wild Things collection by MCM House is outdoor furniture for outdoor living. The release of this collection is a monumental occasion for MCM House as it’s their largest collection to date — including everything from seating to dining to occasional pieces crafted from high-performance materials designed to withstand the harsh Australian climate.

“We wanted to enhance open-air living with this collection, so we made sure to cover every aspect of outdoor comfort and style in our designs,” says Charles Hinckfuss of MCM House.

“This collection complements a range of design styles, particularly resort-inspired and contemporary aesthetics. Its versatile forms and tones make it ideal for new builds and spaces with a focus on relaxed, stylish living."

Contemporary minimalism meets resort-style luxury

“The Wild Things collection is inspired by an active, outdoor lifestyle,” Charles explains. “Clean lines and strong contrasts bring energy to each piece, while a soft, neutral palette offers a timeless appeal that pairs effortlessly with bold accents — a signature approach of MCM House.”

The collection focuses on simple structural forms with a variety of iterations across each piece. Boxy minimalist aluminium framing is offset by soft, earthy fabrics for the sofas, dining and lounge chairs. Traditional farmhouse-style timber tables are juxtaposed with no-fuss aluminium coffee and side tables that replicate the boxy aesthetic of the chairs.

“This collection complements a range of design styles, particularly resort-inspired and contemporary aesthetics. Its versatile forms and tones make it ideal for new builds and spaces with a focus on relaxed, stylish living,” Charles says.

The collection’s neutral colour palette lends itself to almost outdoor space, with a timeless air that won’t fall out of favour as trends change.

“I would recommend using the pieces in shaded lounges, by a pool, or on a deck. To highlight the collection’s understated elegance you can layer textures like woven and metal finishes, or pair with existing furniture to create a sophisticated contrast.”

Taking care of your MCM House furniture

“Designed for full outdoor use, materials like weather-resistant metals and woven features ensure durability and are easy to maintain, retaining their clean, cool look even in harsh weather,” Charles says.

The aluminium pieces are powder coated for rich, long-lasting colour, and the seat cushions are UPF +50 rated, so they will not fade with sun exposure. Cushion inners are made from quick-dry foam, and the covers are removable for easy washing.

To keep your furniture looking its best, MCM House recommends regularly brushing the surfaces with a dry, soft bristle brush to remove any dirt and dust before it has a chance to settle. Stains can be removed with mild soap and a lukewarm wash.

“It’s important to avoid letting water sit on the fabric for prolonged periods of time as that can lead to staining. Tip your cushions on their sides with the zip facing down to allow any water to drain out, and cover your furniture with furniture covers when not in use.”

Founded in 2010 by Charles Hinckfuss, MCM House was born from the desire to create quality furniture that embodied the relaxed Australian lifestyle. Since its inception, the business has consistently achieved this goal, and the Wild Things collection is no exception. Slotting effortlessly into the varying landscapes that make up Australian backyards with a colour palette that mimics the natural flora and fauna, this collection is sure to enhance your outdoor living this summer, and beyond.
