While this Ponsonby villa exudes the same character charm as its neighbours, an extensive renovation has provided much-needed storage and room for modern living.
Located in Ponsonby, it was important for the home to retain its heritage aesthetic.
Character touches have been retained, especially at the front of the property.
A large basement was added to cater for two to three cars. A laundry, workshop and small wine cellar are also found on this level, along with a lift to travel up to the main floor.
Dark-coloured tiles from Tile Warehouse create a modern aesthetic in the bathrooms.
The open-plan kitchen and dining area is found beyond the hallway arch which defines the existing floorpan from the addition. The renovation also involved the installation of Autex Greenstuf to insulate the home.
The lounge area opens out onto the covered deck.
An extension to the interior living space, the outdoor entertaining area is shaded from a louvre system.
A tray roofing product was used to create the unique fence design.
The deck and grass are at the same level to provide a seamless transition between the two.
