Make sure all gutters and downpipes of your SkyLouvres are cleaned so that they’re free from leaves and other debris (the same needs to be done around the house too!). Rain sensors on your SkyLouvres should also be cleaned as pollen and dust can build up on the lens. Without this pre-winter check downpipes and gutters could become clogged and, as winter hits, could overflow.
As winter starts to bite and we get the first frost, remember to wait until any frost has thawed before opening your louvres as frost can cause the louvre fins to stick together and opening may cause damage. And if it snows, open your louvres. If snow has already settled on your louvres wait until it clears before opening.
If you’re wanting to extend summer a little more, check out our range of screens, lights and heaters which provide warmth and comfort to ensure you can enjoy your outdoors year-round. These elements can be added to existing SkyLouvre systems and – as with all our J&C products – are bespoke made to suit your space and requirements.
As I’m writing this I’m amazed at what we’ve all been through over the last year. Last April we were all hunkering down at home in our bubbles. Now we’re just a few weeks away from extending our Kiwi bubble across the Tasman.
From a business sense, a year ago things were looking pretty grim for many Kiwi companies. It’s unbelievable then to think that over the last year J&C has expanded - we’ve opened a new factory in Auckland and hired more staff around the country. This is thanks to our loyal Kiwi customers who have supported us and our 150-year old Kiwi business, which today remains 100% NZ owned and operated.
Who knows what the next year will bring, but we think the future is looking bright.
