ArchiPro spoke to Melissa Prosser, who discussed the ins and outs of the build and the process of demolishing a decrepit, decades-old house and building an architecturally designed home fit for a magazine cover.
The home occupies an enviable site on the corner of two leafy Christchurch streets.
To accomodate the small site and add a bit of architectural flair, the roof pitch was designed to be unbalanced.
The living area with the kitchen and dining area on either side, looking from the main hallway.
Large doors and windows look out to the back area of the house, allowing for ample sun and privacy.
The upstairs balcony joins the two main bedrooms.
The home was clad mostly in brick, with cedar and aluminium joinery throughout.
