Welcome to the world of Laminate

This shy performer is often overlooked, yet laminate offers you so much. While the world has been focusing on stone, laminate has evolved. Transforming from your boring, practical option, to a stylish, modern alternative. Take a look at our laminate page, we know you’ll find something you’ll love.

When working to a restrictive budget yet also looking for a modern, high-end look, we can help you achieve that with laminate.

  • ABS EDGING - Our customers can now choose an ABS edge in most colours, eliminating the signature dark line which was always visible on a laminate top.
  • NEGITIVE DETAIL – Laminate benchtops can also be placed on joinery with negative detailing, creating a modern, crisp look.
  • COLOUR COMBINATIONS – Choosing two laminate colours & using them creatively in one space can instantly portray a high-end look.

As a rough guide your laminate top will be 3 times cheaper than an entry level stone equivalent. Colours and patterns in entry level stone are limited, yet your cheaper laminate option allows for a vast colour and pattern choice. To achieve a high-end look on a limited budget our recommendation is laminate.

We would love to see you in our show room at 9 Watts Road, Sockburn. We’re always happy to introduce clients to the almost limitless possibilities of laminate. Large samples available to view, making your colour choice simple.

Shelving

Feature shelving can really make your kitchen feel luxurious. Display your personal style by dressing shelves with items that spark joy. Create a botanical feel utilising shelves to bring in a pop of green with plants that drape or keep things practical utilising the additional shelf space to store plates, cups or recipe books.

Splash Backs

Laminate splashbacks are a cost-effective option for adding both style and functionality to your kitchen or bathroom. Laminate can be pressed on to variety of different board from 9mm to 18mm, mimicking the look of either tile or stone.

Waterfall Ends

Waterfall ends are typically associated with a stone benchtop but are also available in laminate. This option in laminate creates the same high end look but comes in at a fraction of the price.

Waterfall front

A waterfall front in laminate again mimics the look of stone but is considerably easier on the budget.

Sinks

We have a huge variety of sinks available from all the major suppliers.

Lighting

Get creative with your feature walls, create a talking point. Our designers have included a lighting element to this laminate wall, it is the talking point in our meeting room. The back panels are created using Manhattan Concrete by Laminex, and the dividing battens have been pressed using Brushed Bronze by Prime Laminate.

Frequently asked Questions:

What are the advantages of Laminate Benchtops?

We love laminate, so the list is long. 1. Number one is cost, laminate is the best value benchtop available. 2. Design, as a general rule anything that can be made in stone can also be in laminate, creating a similar look at a fraction of the cost. 3. Choice, laminate is available in an extensive array of patterns and colours, all of which are available for a similar price. Maintenance, your laminate benchtop requires minimal maintenance, simply a regular wipe with a clean cloth and warm soppy water, then a quick dry off. Lifespan, the life of your laminate top is directly related to how you treat it. If you follow our care guide your laminate top will live a long and happy life.

Can I place hot pans or pots directly on Laminate Benchtops?

No, let’s get straight to the facts. We never suggest putting anything hot directly onto laminate, or engineered stone or acrylic for that matter. The only benchtop material that is designed for heat is Sintered Stone or Porcelain. It's best to use trivets or hot pads to protect the surface from direct contact with hot cookware. Sudden changes in temperature, such as placing a hot pan directly on the laminate, can potentially leave a scorch mark on your Benchtop.

Can Laminate Benchtops be installed DIY or do I need professional installation?

While some homeowners may choose to install laminate benchtops themselves, professional installation is generally recommended, especially for larger or more complex projects.
