Ceiling tiles are manufactured to suit a standard suspension grid of 600mm x 600mm and have an overall thickness of 35mm. 

Two treatments are available which provide Plastercraft tiles with acoustic properties:

  1. Tiles can be backed with fibreglass acoustic batts and sealed with Kraft paper glued to tile margins.
  2. Tiles are sealed with a layer of fibrous plaster cast over the tile during manufacture to increase the sound co-efficient rating through the tile.

A further treatment where quality of appearance is the over-riding requirement is to seal perforations in the tiles with a skim coat of plaster.
