Thoughts from the artist: using fine mercerised cotton, I wove broken on my loom until every warp thread broke. The result is a delicate display of disintigration.
Karen Rubado deploys her loom to do, to undo, and to make-do, both materially and to trouble and loosen our attachments to and associations with things. A strong element that runs throughout her works is that they are unresolved, and by being situated between being done and undone, woven and unwoven there is a sense that we are part of a fleeting moment in the fabric of time.

Founded in 2022 by Jessica Agoston Cleary, an experienced curator, writer and public art manager, and John Barnett luminary film producer, business entrepreneur and passionate art collector, Artfull bridges the gap between the artist and the collector through the power of technology.
Artfull's ethos and mission is present the depth and breadth of incredible visual art by artists you know, and introduce you to many you don't. In bringing art on-line, Artfull seeks to demystify art and support collectors to build collections that reflect who they are.
Our services extend art consulting within both residential and commercial contexts, full collection curating and acquisition, facilitation of artist studio visits, and online 'art collecting 101' sessions either one-on-one or in groups.
