An elegant and classic coffee table, crafted in France in the style of Maison Jansen/Maison Bagues circa 1960.  The rectangular table stands on four reeded column brass legs, over an X stretcher with a finial embellishment. The surface is dressed with a beautiful mirrored “Verre Eglomisé” glass top set inside a plain bronze and brass apron. Verre églomisé is a French term referring to the process of applying both a design and gilding onto the rear face of glass to produce a mirror finish. The table base has a rich patina of wear consistent with use and age. These tables are currently extremely popular with interior designers for Parisian apartments.
