Founded in 1973 by John and Léonie Hynds, the privately owned Hynds Group of Companies is New Zealand's premier product supplier for managing water and water-based waste in the civil and rural infrastructure markets. The group now comprises six business units: metal, concrete and plastic manufacturing; product importation and distribution; and trade supply.

With over 900 employees, Hynds remains proudly family-owned and has built its reputation on customer service and innovation. Hynds Pipe Systems Limited is the largest operating company within the Hynds Group and is split into two operating divisions: Manufacturing and Distribution.

Hynds Concrete Manufacturing operates six factory sites across New Zealand, operating independently audited ISO9001 quality systems. The Christchurch and Auckland pipe manufacturing plants have independent third-party product certification to manufacture pressure and non-pressure precast pipe to AS/NZS 4058:2007. S-Mark Certification is maintained through regular audits by Bureau Veritas NZ.

Hynds operates a distribution network of 35 branches throughout New Zealand, supplying over 40,000 product types for drainage, water main, environmental, industrial process and rural applications. The Hynds’ fleet of 60 delivery trucks ensures reliable stock availability and delivery to all corners of the country.
