Dryden Wax End Seal

Dryden Wax End Seal is a wax emulsion for sealing the cut ends of timber posts, beams, etc and is an effective and easy to use preventative reducing checking in sawn timbers, It can go on green, dry or Dryden WoodOil coated timbers.

Scope of use

• Purpose:
  A wax emulsion designed to seal vulnerable, weather-exposed end grains of timber, which absorb moisture up to 250 times faster than other timber surfaces. Helps prevent checking, splitting, and warping by reducing moisture ingress and egress.
  • Applications:
    Ideal for architectural builds where exposed ends need ultimate protection, such as: Hardwood beams, Timber screens, Laminated, veneer lumber (LVL), Laminated timber beams and posts
    Can be applied to green, dry, or Dryden WoodOil-coated timbers. 
  • Not Suitable For: Aesthetic faces of exposed timber
    End grains of cladding and decking before installation (as subsequent coats of Dryden oil products cannot be applied after Wax End Seal).

  • Suitable Substrates: Green, dry, or Dryden WoodOil-coated timbers
    Hardwood beams, laminated timber, LVL, posts, and screens
  • Not Suitable For: Aesthetic faces of timber
    End grains of cladding or decking prior to installation (as subsequent oil coats cannot be applied)
  • Drying Time: Touch dry in approx. 2–4 hours; fully cured in 24 hours (conditions dependent)
  • Environmental Conditions: Apply in dry weather; avoid rain for 6–8 hours after application
  • Safety: Use gloves and eye protection
