Exploring the act of building and a methodology that links creativity with play, Crowe’s ‘Graft’ series uses objects to explore and querysystems of construction. Assembled and arranged from found and fabricated objects, the works contain contradictions. Found objects, surface elements and references to the built environment, physical/visual balance, tension and gravity collide in carefully considered shonky constructions.

Deborah Crowe is an award winning artist based in Auckland. Her work can be found in private and public collections including large scale public art commissions.
