The Herschel Halo is our highly innovative, zero light specialist heater designed to provide churches and heritage buildings with a net zero heating solution – delivering cost-efficient radiant comfort whilst preserving and protecting historic interiors and artifacts. The Halo has been designed in direct response to high demand. Following extensive research and development the Halo is manufactured in the UK by Herschel, using British made steel along with aerospace-grade aluminium. Beautifully designed to complement the heritage aesthetic, Halo suspends from high ceilings to effectively warm hard to heat spaces. Emitting zero light heat using far infrared radiant technology, the Halo will directly, gently and safely warm people, objects and the building rather than warming volumes of air like alternative convection heaters. With the option to add dimmable LED lights and stunning decorative finishes, the Halo provides the ideal heating solution for places of worship, listed properties, theatres, hotel lobbies as well as large industrial spaces.
The Halo is available in 4.8kW and 7.8kW, controlled by Herschel’s revolutionary patented InfraSense system which is integrated into the heater. InfraSense uses advanced technology that directly measures the radiant temperature of the area being heated. This means that churches with large volumes can now utilise temperature control. Inbuilt sensors within each Halo constantly measure the temperature within the heated zone, every second, using smart algorithms to adjust the power output of the Halos to accurately maintain your set target temperature. You can be confident that the congregation will be heated to the desired temperature. In addition, electricity is not wasted from heaters being at higher power than is required. This avoids having to manually monitor and adjust power levels during a service. InfraSense is operated via a simple to use touchscreen tablet. If required, InfraSense also features manual control for manual selection of Halo power levels. Alternatively, we offer our APX control system, please contact us for more details.

- Scope of use
Your Herschel representative will make recommendations on mounting heights specific to your location and requirements, based on a detailed site survey. Areas heated are a guideline only and will be impacted by airflow and ambient temperatures. Dependent upon the property age/type, insulation levels and levels of airflow present, the number of heaters required and running times will vary. For larger domestic or commercial projects we recommend the Herschel Heritage team carry out a survey or detailed desktop assessment.

- Why Infrared?
- Infrared (radiant) systems directly heat objects and people in a space as opposed to heating the air and circulating it, thereby saving energy;
- Reduced carbon footprint – with the correct energy supply (any form of renewable energy or green tariff) infrared heating can be run on a zero-carbon basis;
- Enables a much more consistent and comfortable temperature.
- Quick, simple installation – infrared heating simply needs an electricity supply and can be wall or ceiling mounted in the correct place (portable solutions also available);
- No requirement for maintenance checks;
- Highly controllable – simple operation to ensure the right people and spaces are heated at the right times with no wasted energy;
- Solid-state, no moving parts – long life solutions;
- No noise;
- Choose between zero light and warm glow heaters;
- Infrared warms the building fabric itself helping to preserve buildings and reduce damp levels.
- Key Features
- Zero light heater with optional LED lighting
- UK manufacture with British made steel
- Optional bespoke decorative designs
- Fast warm up times
- Far infrared preserves historic interiors
- Ideal for places of worship & heritage properties
- Benefits
- 100% natural
- Heats objects, not the air
- Less damp and mould
- Reduced energy use
- Maintenance free
- CO2 free when used with renewable electricity sources
- Greater than 95% recyclable at EOL
- Models
Options available for with/without LED lights and with/without decorative finish. Bespoke decor/colour options also available.
- Heated Zone
The heater will directly warm people and objects within the Heated Zone (note: air movement may reduce area coverage). Within enclosed areas, the thermal mass of the building will also be heated within the entire zone. Dependent upon the property age/type, insulation levels, number of heaters used and running times this will increase the ambient temperatures. For larger commercial projects or where different mounting heights are required, we would always recommend Herschel carry out a survey or detailed desktop assessment.
The heaters are not suitable for household or similar use. Also, the heaters must not be used or installed in any commercial premises where they can be accidentally touched.
Guarantee: 5 years (excludes elements and any cost of installation or consequential losses)
