The Joseph Giles team has been hard at work developing beautiful new ironmongery to meet the demand for knurled and textured products.

The new Joseph Giles Knurled Hardware Collection truly luxury ironmongery, complements the use of natural fibres and textiles as well as organic shapes in design schemes. The Joseph Giles Knurled products require a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail from design conception to manufacture.

Knurling is a manufacturing process, typically conducted on a lathe whereby a pattern of straight, angled or crossed lines is rolled into the material.

With the lever handle, the challenge lies in finding the ideal point of proportion in the knurling so as not to overpower the actual handle. As Felix Ure, Product Development Manager explains,

“The key is keeping it simple and accenting the aesthetics of the handle so that the knurling doesn’t become the design, but rather complements the design of the handle.” The result is a well-proportioned, luxurious door handle that is both subtle and statement in styling. Made of solid brass, the textured and tactile finish is pleasing to the touch and ensures a comfortable hold. These new details add a beautiful accent to any space; offering the prestige of some of Joseph Giles' most popular designs with a fresh twist.
