The JSC Coatings Range consists of advanced water-based timber coatings made from plant-based oils. These contain UV inhibitors and high-quality pigment for longer-lasting coatings. Our range includes:
- JSC Scumble® Exterior Wood Oil is offered in 10 colours, as well as a clear coating option, and is designed to coat the timber well but still showcase some of the grain detail of the timber cladding. Our colour range has been chosen with the New Zealand landscape and building styles in mind.
- JSC Coda® Exterior Wood Oil is offered in 15 colours which include bright colours for unique architectural designs and a clear option for a more natural look. This coating is designed to beautifully showcase the timber grain detail.

JSC Factory Coatings System
Building sites often lack clean, dry, and contaminant-free spaces to coat and dry freshly milled weatherboards. This led us to develop the JSC Factory Coating System, which allows weatherboards to be coated under controlled conditions with our state-of-the-art vacuum coating technology. Our vacuum coating system ensures 100% coverage over the entire surface area of any profile in one pass, achieving a precise and consistent application rate. Even hard-to-reach areas of the profile are evenly coated, resulting in a premium finish that is assured.
Choose JSC Factory coating for less time scaffolding, less time and product wastage, a cleaner site, and efficient workflow. Our recommended application process includes choosing a colour, ordering timber cladding, factory coated first coating (recommended), installing of the weatherboards, and applying the second coating.

Factory-coated product is delivered on-site dry, well stacked, and ready for installation.
- A total of 25 colours are part of the full range to choose from with high-quality pigments & UV inhibitors. Clear coating options are available that are free of colour pigments for applications where the raw beauty of the timber is the key requirement.
