Our Eco Outdoor Porphyry Outdoor Stone Pavers are sourced in northern Italy and are very durable and hardwearing making them ideal for driveways and demanding floor environments. Porphyry offers a stunning range of natural colour variations from grey tones right through to rich burgundy hues.
Our Porphyry range comes in four different stone flooring formats - we supply Porphyry cobblestones, Porphyry crazing paving, Porphyry large split pebbles and Porphyry random length paving. All of our Porphyry paving supplies are ideal for outdoor flooring use. Given it hardwearing properties Porphyry is ideal for use on driveways and other high traffic areas. The less structured format of individual cobblestones, crazy paving and large pebbles also make porphyry a great specification when working with curved designs. Porphyry is a perfect product for a huge range of residential landscape design projects and commercial builds.
What is Porphyry?
Porphyry is a type of igneous stone that consists of large-grained crystals such as quartz, dispersed in a dense fine-grained matrix. It's a very dense volcanic stone which has a significant amount of colour variation. Typically porphyry is not quarried in large blocks like granite, but instead sheers off and has a natural split finish. It's extracted in a similar way to slate or other sedimentary split stones.

Crazy Paving

Weight for 20 - 40mm cobbles and crazy paving is approximately 75kg/m2. Given porphyry has variations in thickness this product should ideally be laid on a 25mm wet mortar bed over a concrete slab. Refer to installation tips for further information. Other random length tiles sizes can be produced on request.
