Thoughts from the artist: This is another metaphor yet at the same time a reality, throwing stones in the river in order to change its course in the smallest way. We look in awe as rivers carry massive stones and small pebbles to the coast; this also acts as powerful metaphor for the river of life.

Elliott Collins won the prestigious Molly Morpeth Canaday Contemporary Art Award in 2024. He holds PhD in visual art from Auckland University of Technology. His work is held in significant private and institutional collections locally, including the Auckland Art Gallery, as well as internationally.
