Tile backer boards are waterproof, lightweight and versatile
The high-quality tile backer boards supplied by Composite Insulation offer superior performance designed to last. The waterproof insulation boards are made from extruded polystyrene, faced with a fibreglass mesh embedded into polymer mortar on each side. This gives extra strength and rigidity. Benefits include:
- Moisture resistance: tile backer boards are waterproof and rot resistant making them perfect for rooms with lots of moisture such as bathrooms, kitchens and spa pool rooms.
- Lightweight: boards are lightweight, easy to handle and easy to install, often only requiring adhesive. Boards are easy to cut to shape and can be supplied in pre-scored rolls for curves or L-shapes for covering pipes.

If you are planning a new build or bathroom renovation, you will find many applications for waterproof insulation boards.
Baths, showers and vanities: tile backer board can be used on vanity units to prepare for tiling and around the surrounds of baths and showers, as well as for shower trays. Board offers a straight surface for tiling and can be used to enclose awkward spaces for a cleaner finish.
Pipe covering: use shaped tile backer board as an attractive alternative to plastic or wood pipe covering. The waterproof insulation board covers the pipes and you can then tile the area to match the rest of the bathroom.
Floors: lay on top of wooden or concrete floors to provide a clean and level waterproof insulation layer before laying floor tiles. Tile backer boards can also be used on top of concrete floors before laying underfloor heating to reduce the heat lost through the floor.
Walls: tile backer board can be applied to concrete or brick walls using adhesive or to timber framing using a screw system. The board provides a good surface for wall tiles to be applied.

GOLDFOAM XPS EXTRUDED POLYSTYRENE
Extruded polystyrene (XPS) is a high-performance closed-cell rigid foam board insulation with high compressive strength. Extruded polystyrene can be used for cavity walls, roofs, soffits and underfloors.

GREENFOAM XPS 300
Greenfoam XPS X300 (300 kpa) has an ozone depletion potential of zero. It is a rigid insulation board with high compressive strength, is a closed cell and is easy to install.
Greenfoam has a density of 35kg/m3
Greenfoam XPS Board is available in thicknesses of 50mm, 75mm and 100mm
NF PIR Board
NF PIR Board is an energy-efficient thermal insulation board comprised of a closed-cell polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam core bonded to aluminium foil on each side. PIR offers one of the highest R-value of any material per thickness and has zero ozone-depleting potential (ODP)
NF PIR Board has a density of 35kg/m3.
