Western Red Cedar (WRC) is loved in New Zealand for its exceptional beauty, performance, grain feature and distinctive fragrance. It is renowned for its natural decay and insect damage resistance. Takapuna house consists of rusticated style, profile numbered as P835 (Resene Woodsman Smokey-ash coating), Cedar CertClad weatherboard system supplied by Timspec. The soffit lining and the bottom of the cantilevered part of the upper floor of the building is of Western Red Cedar (T&G P83 Profile coated in Resene bleached Riverstone).

ITI Timspec CertClad is the brand name for ITI Timspec’s certified cavity-based weatherboard cladding systems. These are tested and assessed in accordance with the requirements of NZ Building Code Clause E2/VM1 by a third-party organisation and have attained CodeMark Certification.

CodeMark: CodeMark is a voluntary product certification scheme issued by a third-party auditor that provides an easily understood and robust way to show a building product system meets the requirements of New Zealand building Code. The CertClad weatherboard systems are audited annually to ensure continued compliance. Testing, Compliance and Consenting The CertClad weatherboard systems are audited annually by a third party independent auditor, within the framework of JAS-ANZ. These systems are not only compliant to NZ Building Code but, exceed the minimum requirements. Moreover, CertClad certified systems are deemed to comply, and are generally, not subjected to the discretion of consenting authorities in New Zealand. ITI Timspec CertClad weatherboards are available on Masterspec and ProductSpec.
