While a standard heat pump system consists of an indoor and outdoor unit, a multi room heat pump system allows you to connect multiple indoor units to a single outdoor unit. With a multi room heat pump system you have the freedom to choose the ideal unit for each area to keep you comfortable, without cluttering the exterior of your home.

Flexibility

With a multi room heat pump system, you have the flexibility to choose the perfect indoor unit for each room. For example, you can choose a super quiet, low capacity bulkhead ducted unit above wardrobe for  bedroom and a stylish, higher capacity high wall unit or floor console for the larger living room. All these heat pump, ducted, cassette, high walls and floor consoles, are able to be connected to a single outdoor unit, rather than requiring one for each indoor – saving outdoor space.

Individual Control

All Heat Pumps on our multi room systems allow for individual control of air conditioning in each space, allowing the occupier to adjust the temperature to suit their comfort levels and ensure that it is only operating when needed.

In more recent years we have found our clients move away from conventional wall mounted heatpumps and opting for an all round solution. Centralised Ducted heat pumps are designed to provide whole home heating or cooling at a constant temperature throughout the entire home. It also has the ability to provide dehumidification and introduce fresh air to your home. 

Centralised ducted heat pumps are ideally installed within ceiling voids or underfloor voids. There is a wide selection of architecturally inspired grilles available. All of our grilles are selected with the customer including size and colours, these grilles are custom made in Auckland by Holyoake Industries. 

Ducted Central Heat Pump and Air Conditioning Systems are designed to provide whole home central heating or cooling at a constant temperature throughout the whole house. Ideal for installing in new homes or retrofitted into existing homes, it is the ideal cost-effective and energy efficient solution for year-round comfort.

The addition of optional Wi-Fi Zone Control gives the home owner the ability to turn on their heatpump from smart phone or table; to pre-heat or cool home without having to set timers etc.  We can also provide zone control kit, which enables home owner to program and control either up to 4 or up to 8 individual zones, providing heating or cooling only to the rooms that require it. Built in sensor functions monitor room temperature, brightness and occupancy to maximise energy efficient use of the whole system throughout the home or just those rooms where it is needed.

Combining with optional Lossnay Fresh Air Ventilation

The Mitsubishi Electric Lossnay system is an energy recovery ventilation solution that can be integrated with the PEAD Ducted Heat Pump. The two systems will work together to further increase energy savings while ventilating your home to remove stale air and control moisture. The Lossnay system will recover the energy from stale air to pre-heat or pre-cool incoming fresh air, reducing the amount of additional heating or cooling required.

High Wall, Floor Console, Ducted? Which Type and Size Heat Pump is Right for Me?

Choosing the right sized heat pump is important to ensure optimum comfort levels; particularly when outdoor temperatures drop. Location, room size, and insulation levels in a room are all factors that determine which heat pump size should be installed.

Insulation and building orientation are key factors which can influence the degree of heat loss in a home. An older style home with poor insulation will lose indoor heat at a faster rate than a modern well-insulated home that faces north. The quicker a home loses heat, the bigger the heat pump system will need to be to overcome this heat loss.

Outdoor ambient conditions in winter also play a big role in unit size selection. When temperatures drop, the output capacity of the heat pump also drops. Areas of New Zealand that experience sub-zero temperatures in winter will require either a larger capacity heat pump or an upgrade to a Mitsubishi Electric HyperCore® Heat Pump, in comparison to a same sized room in a warmer region. It is therefore very important that units are not undersized in low ambient conditions.

At Ace Conditioning we design and build HVAC packages for commercial projects.

This includes concept designs and budgets right through to heat load calculations, ventilation calculations. We submit design including full AutoCAD drawings for PS1 council Consent. Following approval, we can carry out the installation as per the design and sign off PS3, hand over documents upon completion
