Based in Melbourne, Australia, Alter Space Interiors is a contemporary interior design studio founded by Maggie Zavala and Sarah Vautin. After instantly connecting while studying at Melbourne’s renowned RMIT University, Maggie and Sarah went on to establish Alter Space Interiors together: a design studio that offers a fresh approach to classic design, specialising in tailoring unique spaces and creating custom solutions for both residential and small commercial projects. Inspired by nature, form and influenced by historical references, Maggie and Sarah thrive on creating beautiful and superior spaces that evoke emotion and leave a lasting impression on their audience. Their shared passion for blending contemporary design with classical influences sees their style embracing elements of modern flair and contemporary colour schemes; while also drawing on a deeper understanding of the history and design intent behind the project site and its features to create timeless, unique interiors. Alter Space Interiors are experts in creating inspired, functional spaces that complement and enhance their greater intention, and are specialists in colour selection, spatial planning, joinery design and custom-made soft furnishings. Working closely and collaboratively with its clients, Alter Space Interiors provides total project management from inception through to completion, and prides itself on exceptional client care, transparent design process and, ultimately, stunning interior design.
