About us
Gardens by Ashley James Timeless garden design inspired by European traditions, thoughtfully crafted to flourish in diverse Australian landscapes.
THE GARDEN STUDIO
There is a quiet kind of beauty found in gardens that feel as though they’ve always been there — shaped by time, softened by seasons, and layered with story.
Ashley James designs and creates timeless, romantic gardens inspired by European traditions and thoughtfully adapted for Australian living. His work is guided by emotion, memory, and presence, resulting in spaces that feel personal, lived-in, and deeply connected to their surroundings.
Each garden is not simply designed, but carefully made — a story shaped by hand and meant to be lived in.
Ashley James
“My work is known for its romance, storytelling, and natural beauty — gardens designed not only to flourish, but to be experienced.”

Produced after the concept design has been agreed, these detailed drawings will include Material Documentation, Planting Plans and Schedules including the location of all proposed plants, exact names, sizes and quantities. Garden Lighting and Irrigations plans along with 3D imagery to better help you visualise the final result.
