Basis is a Kiwi cleantech startup reinventing the humble switchboard for a world that’s rapidly electrifying. As homes add heat pumps, induction cooktops, EV chargers, solar, batteries and smarter appliances, the traditional switchboard is still largely blind, offering little visibility, control, or insight into what’s happening behind the walls. The Basis Smart Panel is designed to replace outdated residential switchboards and give homeowners and electricians a clearer, smarter way to manage electricity. It combines intelligent hardware with connected software to deliver real-time, circuit-level visibility, so you can see what’s running, when it’s running, and what it’s costing. That clarity makes better decisions simple: identify energy-hungry appliances, spot waste, and shift usage with confidence. The result is meaningful, household-level impac, with insights and tools designed to help reduce electricity bills by up to $1,500 per year.
