With over 15 years in the electrical industry — working on small, medium and large-scale commercial projects — the brains behind BRP Electrical, Ben Pengelly’s affinity for the trade was born from an aptitude for the technical side of things. And as a self-proclaimed perfectionist, this dexterity is evident in the business’ body of work and especially in the manner, we deal with clients.We favour a hands-on approach so you can borrow from our extensive range of experience. In other words, rather than just being involved in the quoting stage or the labour on any one job, we’re involved in every part from the outset to the finish — whether it’s on the tools or project managing, thus ensuring we know what’s going on every step of the way – this is how we avoid mishaps or miscommunication causing issues down the line.

A new purpose-built facility comprising 1200 M2 of office over two floors and 7600 M2 of warehousing. Ben Pengelly was electrical project leader with a big influence on electrical design including installation scheduling. The work was carried out to a high standard and delivery was on time. Ben was not afraid to make recommendations to the electrical engineers if practicalities dictated that a change of specification was required. Upon completion, ben also produced and supplied a full set of ‘as built’ electrical specification/schematics.

This remodeling development project involved demolishing 2/3 rds of the existing house with 2 x extremities remaining. This in its self-provided challenges particularly with the owners remaining on site and requiring active services. Ben Pengelly provided/organised all the Electrical design services to include; A new centralised plant room; A new 3-ph underground supply/transformer to site (11 KV); Sub distribution boards for Pool room and Man-shed; An automatic Generator emergency start system was employed for instances of power outage which are frequent in the Whitford area; A sophisticated home automation package was designed including C-Bus / Elan master control system. Controlling all house functions – lighting – blinds – audio/visual – HVAC – Alarm with security cameras and swimming pool.Ben Pengelly proved to be very capable in both design and planning with the project running over a 24-mth period. I would have no hesitation in recommending BRP Electrical to any prospective client whether it be domestic or commercial electrical work.
