Customtone Kitchens

About
Customtone Kitchens is based in the North King Country town of Otorohanga, specialising in designing and crafting bespoke kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, wardrobes, and all other interior joinery and glazing.
The business originally started as a subsidiary of the Otorohanga Timber Company (OTC), and branched out as a standalone company in 1993. In 2017, Customtone Kitchens was bought by George van Boven and Wendy McDowell, the current owner-operators.
Customtone Kitchens is made up of a highly skilled team who combine qualified technical skill, professional experience and innovation. Customtone Kitchens take great pride in producing an exceptionally high quality of work while aiming to make the process an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Supporting the local community is important to us, so you’ll see us around the local and wider communities.
At Customtone, each project begins with a thorough, in-depth consultation. We take the time to understand exactly what you're looking for, from aesthetic preferences, layout ideas to practical requirements and lifestyle considerations. This client-driven, collaborative approach ensures that your project is not only beautiful but also functional and personalised to how you live.
We work with clients, architects, interior designers and builders across the larger Waikato and King Country areas, as well as Auckland, Hamilton, Coromandel and the wider North Island.
Our kitchens have been featured in Your home and garden, The Local Project, Cuisine and other home and entertainment magazines as well as the TV show NZ's Best Homes - with Phil Spencer.
