We are perfectionists. We don’t cut corners and are not afraid to be a tad obsessive when it comes to our craftsmanship. Our passion is building high-quality homes detailed to perfection in Mount Maunganui/Tauranga. The reward is delivering exceptionally finished homes that we are all immensely proud of. The icing on the cake is producing award-winning homes.

Building partners, Dave Merrett and Ben Gorinski, formed D&B Construction in 2007, with the vision to carve out a niche as the best builders of extraordinary homes in Mount Maunganui / Tauranga.

To achieve this vision we also set out to become the most recommended high-end builders in town. Today, we have an experienced team of builders and work alongside talented architects and trusted subcontractors who are passionate about delivering high-end homes to perfection - with the client satisfaction to match.

We have a fresh and straight-up communication style. We employ exceptional foremen but you will always have direct access to us, the owners, Dave and Ben. We don't sit behind a desk all day, we are hands-on, out visiting sites, meeting with clients, and engaging with subcontractors to ensure a build of the highest standard right to the end and beyond.

We are also up to date with the latest materials and building techniques and how the plans work in reality. When our architect recommended D&B Construction to build our new home at Omokoroa in 2019 we didn’t hesitate to involve them because we’d had previous experience with D&B Construction. They did some remedial work on our old property a few years earlier and we’d been impressed with their operation. Our trust in them to build our new home proved to be well-founded. Their communication, organisational skills and the workmanship of their entire crew were exemplary. Whenever decisions were needed about the inevitable small changes as construction progressed they were always forthcoming with ideas and recommendations. Dave and Ben were always available and the entire team were courteous and helpful. The current project is nearing completion and it has gone very well. Projects of this nature require a very close working relationship between the builder and Engineer to resolve the problems identified. Ben's building knowledge and communication have assisted in successfully resolving the weather-tight issues on this project, and also incorporated enhancements in the remedial construction details to reduce weather-tight risk. I would have no hesitation in using Ben for future weather-tight remedial works projects.
