I just wanted to send you a note to say how happy we are with our new house. It is well beyond our expectations. We're so pleased and relieved we decided to get you to build it for us as we've heard countless horror stories from friends about their bad experiences with some totally unprofessional builders and we've got only good things to say about our own experience with you.

We really appreciated all the input you gave us from the overall design all the way through right down to the finishing touches - thanks so much for our stylish letterbox too - best-looking letterbox in the whole neighbourhood! Above all we really enjoyed your integrity on the job - when you said the roof was going to be on by Friday, that's when it happened, and we came to expect things to go smoothly with you - something which we hear is definitely not the story in a lot of cases.

As you know we had heard that you were a great builder through the grapevine and we just wanted to let you know that we will be passing on that sentiment to our friends now as well, so we wish you all the very best for your future and thank you again for helping to build ours.

Dave Millar was recommended to me by friends. I wanted to build a shed for my potential project car and meantime a room where our teenage boys could entertain – close to us but not too close! The shed was 16 x 9 metres with shower, toilet and separate store-age area for mowers etc. Initially I looked at pre fabricated steel sheds but my wife, Kathie, informed me that this was not going to happen as it did not fit with the look of our house – board & batten with a 35 degrees pitched roof and a 3.2 metre stud & schist pillars. Dave and his team completed the project where everyone was delighted with the result – Kathie included. His ideas were valued and the way he dealt with a design issue was fantastic – no problems and he is always mindful of costs.

Since then we have altered our lounge and dining area to include a schist fire place and other remodeling, again completed by Dave and his team. It looks great. From the first time I worked with Dave I was impressed by his attention to detail, always having a tidy work site, his communication before and during the project and the way his chosen sub contractors have met their timing and quality requirements.
As a result of Dave's commitment to his projects I have used him exclusively on my commercial requirements and have unreservedly recommended him to friends and colleagues.

We employed David Millar Ltd to build our new home at North Ridge Rise, Maunu, Whangarei. The project commenced in February 2011 and took approximately 20 months to complete. The quality of the workmanship throughout the building by Dave (and his team of Craig and Mike) was excellent. Dave's team were all reliable, and hardworking.
