"I first discovered Di Baker and her wonderful interior design company when I was buying a brand new townhouse in Wellington and was searching for an interior designer who could help me furnish it, from top to toe, in a style that I could best describe as "informal elegance".  I knew broadly the look I wanted, but had no idea how to get there and knew I could make a lot of expensive mistakes along the way if I tried to do it myself.

"We engaged Di Baker of Di Baker Design when we extensively renovated our family home in Waikanae in 2002. The transformation from a traditional rural home into a modern family home was made all the more exceptional with Di Baker’s excellent selection of colours and fabric which enhanced the spaciousness of the living areas and added a subtle touch of class - without being ostentatious. That was one of the features of the house which helped to sell it earlier this year..
Seven years later, with our three boys grown up and away from home, we downsized into a modern property in Wellington city with unusual but appealing dimensions and panoramic harbour views. What it was lacking however was interior character. We chose Di Baker again for the transformation, which was more extensive than the work done in Waikanae - and she did not disappoint! The choice of furniture for the living area (all custom made), fabrics, colour and surrounding fixtures were magic which complemented our character, lifestyle and blended perfectly with the extensive glass surrounds and magnificent harbour view and exterior light. We liked it so much we have retained Di to transform the bedrooms as well.
