From commercial fit-outs to domestic cabinetry—if you need a joiner, then you need a Grafter.

We’ve done fit-outs for restaurants, retail and dental clinics. For bars, banks and offices. We’ve done kitchens, wardrobes, shelving, cabinets and all sorts of other storage solutions. We are a tight knit group of people who are excited for the future of our company and committed to providing excellence in service and workmanship.

History? How can Graft Joinery have a history when they’re a brand new company, we hear you ask? Well, the truth is we’ve been in the trade for over 13 years but have recently branched out on our own. What was once known as CDM Central is now Graft Joinery and while it is in many ways the same company, it is also in many ways completely different. Under our new mantra of ‘working smarter’, we have committed to innovating, improving and streamlining all areas of our business. But we’re keeping our attention to detail. We’re keeping our best staff (and adding new ones). We’re keeping our commitment to quality. And we’re keeping our commitment to all our clients, past, present and future.

Graft Joinery is now run by a brand new duo—husband and wife team, Craig and Julia van Velden. After 13 years of ‘hard graft’ working for CDM Central, this pedantic dutchman decided to give self-employment a whirl. With help and support from staff, friends and family, CDM Central closed its doors and reopened as Graft Joinery Ltd.

So what does working smarter REALLY mean for our clients? It means a more efficient workflow. It means making use of the latest technologies at all levels of our business, from accounting and time management software, right through to tools and machinery. It means a thorough knowledge of materials which often leads to more economical solutions without having to compromise on a high quality outcome. It means we can think outside the box because we understand that box inside and out. It means happier staff and happier customers. We’re young, innovative and we’re excited for the future

Graft have been exceptional in renovating our kitchen with the things that make the most difference without spending unnecessary money. They were creative, innovative, flexible and completely receptive to what we wanted - although coming up with even better ideas than we had. The outcome is beyond our expectations and the quality of the finishing is fabulous. They took full accountability for a minor communication issue at their end and fully addressed and rectified the issue at their end without question and at their cost. They came back a few weeks after the main job was finished to do a final piece of finishing work (due to a delay not in their control) and their worker noticed a very small leak under the sink which we hadn’t even noticed. They could have ignored it but they didn’t - they rung and then sent their plumber around straight away to tighten the seal. I could not have asked for more from Graft with Mikaela and outstanding lead and communicator on our project. I highly recommend Graft.
