Habitat Heating Ltd. was founded by Scott Sandwell in 2016. Scott is passionate about heating and he believes everyone should be able to live in a comfortable, healthy home.

Scott has experienced first hand the unhealthy, cold and damp conditions that persist in most Kiwi homes and buildings. Armed with this experience he and the team at Habitat Heating are on a mission to provide dry, warm, healthy and safe homes and workplaces with the highest standard of workmanship.

With over 15 years experience in the plumbing and gas fitting industry, Scott has developed vast skills and knowledge, there is not much he hasn’t seen over this time. A problem solver by nature, Scott loves a challenge and enjoys finding solutions to clients plumbing, heating and gas fitting needs.

Trained specialists in warm water central heating, our warm water (or ‘hydronic’) central heating products include gas and diesel boilers, heat pumps, radiators and underfloor heating. We also install gas and wood fires along with ducted warm air systems. No matter the home, we have the perfect heating solution to create a warm and comfortable habitat.

• Underfloor Heating: The most luxurious form of heating, evenly distributed throughout – wall to wall, floor to ceiling. Hard floor surfaces are warm to the touch and what’s more, it is totally silent and hidden from view.
• Radiators: A responsive and flexible heating option for both new and existing homes. They heat up and cool down quickly, so are ideally suited to New Zealand’s changeable weather conditions and the typically busy lifestyles of New Zealanders.
• Diesel Boilers: A popular heat source in areas where there is no Natural Gas because diesel fuel delivery is readily available in all urban and rural areas across New Zealand.
• Gas Boilers: Virtually silent, gas boilers can be positioned almost anywhere inside a house. They effectively provide heat for both radiator and underfloor systems. They can also provide domestic hot water in conjunction with heating.
• Air-To-Water Heat Pumps: Used for hydronic central heating, their high efficiency and easy-to-use nature is perfectly suited to Kiwi homes. With the recent addition of high temperature hot water heat pumps, these units are now no longer confined to underfloor heating, but can also be used with radiators.
• Wood/Gas Fireplaces: Most Kiwi’s have experienced the cozy feeling of a fire. The right fire, in the right home, can be a great and affordable heating solution. We also install Heat Transfer Kits to assist in the distribution of heat throughout your home.
• Gas Fired Ducted Warm Air Systems: This quick and effective form of heating ensures you have a warm, dry home by taking cold air and replacing it with warm, dry air.

• Hot Water Solutions: Let us help you heat your hot water cost-effectively. Hot water can be incorporated into your Habitat Heating System, or simply a Hot Water system designed with your requirements in mind.
• Maintenance/Renovations: We can help you plan and carry out all types of plumbing repairs and improvements to your home.

Gas is a fantastic resource available throughout New Zealand, in either NG (Natural Gas) or LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas). Gas may have many uses within your habitat.

• Continuous Flow Water Heaters: Hot water on demand without the need for storage. A continuous flow water system delivers a continuous flow of hot water at a constant temperature, only using gas when heat is needed, i.e. when opening the tap.
• Gas Boilers: Virtually silent, gas boilers can be positioned almost anywhere inside a house. They effectively provide heat for both radiator and underfloor systems. They can also provide domestic hot water in conjunction with heating.
• Gas Fired Ducted Warm Air Systems: This quick and effective form of heating ensures you have a warm, dry home by taking cold air and replacing it with warm, dry air.
