For architects, designers and owners we can create mood boards and provide reference materials and samples for key presentations to aide decision making.

When we write a schedule and provide a quotation, we will have worked through your floor plans (door-by-door and room-by-room) for complete peace of mind. Once decisions have been made, we will provide you with drawings, technical installation guides, and expert help so you can get things right.

IT'S A TEAM EFFORT

When there are a lot of stakeholders in the mix, our project managers can take care of the details and bring experienced recommendations to the table.

It takes a team to complete a build, and we work with installers and builders onsite as projects reach their critical phases. For us, a sale isn’t complete until our hardware is working. If an onsite visit is required and achievable, we will make it happen.

Traceable provenance is vital to us
Our zinc, solid brass, solid bronze, aluminium and 316 grade stainless steel are certified quality from accredited producers. We ensure that our engineers are accredited with ISA13485, ISO14001 and ISO9001 as well as being experts in precision componentry.

All of our milled, turned, and CNC components in brass, stainless steel, and aluminium are made under ISO certified conditions including complying with international agreed standards on environmental management systems. This ensures efficient use of resources and reduction of waste.

ROHS (DIRECTIVE 2002/95/EC)
We follow international legal guidelines on disposable of hazardous material.

Our brass, stainless steel, and aluminium products are RoHS-certified, confirming that the proportion of hazardous, or difficult to dispose substances such as lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, and cadmium are limited to the maximum allowed under international law.

REACH
We follow European Regulation around safe chemical use.

REACH is a European Regulation around use of chemicals that certifies safe chemical use. Producers such as our engineering partners are warranted to provide a high level of protection of human health and the environment from the use of chemicals and safeguards both those involved in the manufacturing process and end-users.

GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL / ENVIROMARK GOLD
No liquid chemicals, solvents or caustic solutions used in our manufacture.

Our “Electro™” powder coat finishes used on our sliding door and stair hardware are not only highly durable but made from UV resistant materials with no liquid chemicals, solvents or caustic solutions used in manufacture. The Electro™ range has a negligible VOC content, and is suitable for a wide range of climatic conditions, and have earned both Enrivomark Gold, and Green Building Council Australia certification.

RECYCLED PACKAGING
For a minimal footprint over 95% of the components and packaging we use are made in NZ.

As a New Zealand designer and manufacturer, we are proud of the fact that over 95% of all the components and packaging used for our products are made right here in New Zealand. To keep our footprint even smaller, most are made within 20km of our head office! Our in-house practices encourage the use of recyclable materials where possible, and we work with suppliers leading their fields in solutions that reduce consumption of materials used in manufacturing.

Halliday + Baillie can provide style and finish options, work with you to choose the best items for your look, function, and budget, then put together a comprehensive door by door hardware schedule and quotation based on your choices.

WHERE CAN I VIEW SAMPLES OF THE HARDWARE?

Halliday + Baillie have showrooms in Auckland, New Zealand, Mebourne, and Sydney, Australia. We also have several merchant dealers around New Zealand, and Australia, that retail and display our hardware. We have a leading distributor on the East Coast of America and have selected ​​dealers across ​North America and Canada where you can view a range of our products. For clients further afield, we have distributors in England, Denmark, and can supply hardware across Asia. WHAT IS THE HALLIDAY + BAILLIE HARDWARE MADE FROM?

Hardware is made from various base metals, which can be finished in various ways. Base metals include aluminium, bronze, brass, stainless steel, and zinc. Finishes can be applied to these metals by ageing existing base metals, anodising, plating, or powder coating. The Halliday + Baillie, FSB, and Turnstyle ranges of hardware all come in a range of materials and finishes to complement your designs. All Halliday + Baillie hardware data sheets state the base metal and all finishes available for each item.

WHERE IS MY HARDWARE MADE?

Halliday + Baillie hardware is proudly designed and made in New Zealand, supporting New Zealand craftspeople and expertise. FSB and Simonswerk hardware is made in Germany and imported exclusively by Halliday + Baillie for New Zealand and Australian projects. Turnstyle design is made in England including hand stitched leather finishes, and again imported exclusively by Halliday + Baillie for New Zealand clients.

HOW LONG WILL I HAVE TO WAIT FOR DELIVERY?

Halliday + Baillie makes all of our H&B products in New Zealand, and we endeavour to keep all standard finishes in stock. This includes satin chrome, brushed nickel, powder coat black, and powder coat bronzes. We also hold a limited stock of other finishes. We have a lead time of approximately 4-6 weeks for custom colours or where stock is temporarily unavailable. Please get in touch with us for larger bulk orders, which may also attract additional lead times. FSB, turnstyle lever handles, etc., are ordered independently from Europe for each project. Delivery can take ​8-10 weeks from the order for delivery to New Zealand. Again, this time can be extended for any customisation or special finishes. We can advise approximate lead times on orders. Locks and latches are kept in stock, so ‘dry fit sets’ of hardware for preparing and cutting doors before painting can be provided upon confirmation of your order.

I'M KEEPING TO A BUDGET - HOW CAN I KEEP MY HARDWARE COST-EFFECTIVE?

All of our finishes are of the highest quality, however some finishes can attract a premium such as solid bronze. The H+B and FSB ranges have a comprehensive selection of satin chrome lever handles, flush pulls, sliding lock sets, stair rail brackets, door stops and accessories for the best value. While we are known for high end hardware, if you can provide us with the PC Sum you have allowed for hardware we can suggests options that may suit. Savings can also be made by reducing the number of internal keys or privacy locking doors and using a standard passage latch. Options like this can be discussed when putting together a quotation for you.
