Jade Architecture

After completing a Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Certificate in Interior Design, Jade started her career as a Kitchen Designer for a Christchurch designer kitchen manufacturer. After gaining some industry experience, she moved on to become a junior Architectural Designer at a small North Canterbury architectural design practice.

As her residential design experience grew, she moved up to Intermediate Designer and gained her Design 1 LBP. This role was varied and included residential new build design, residential renovation design, light industrial and commercial fit-outs.

Over the years Jade has also undertaken more complex roles such as weather tightness remediation design and has also gained her Design2 LBP. In 2018 Jade became a Registered Building Surveyor, and has experience with a variety of building surveying projects across the building surveying and design disciplines; from building defect reports, weather tightness surveying, weather tightness design, weather tightness remediation design review, and fire and chemical remediation design.

In the future, Jade would love to look more towards sustainable and green building design. To get the ball rolling, she has recently become a Homestar Assessor with the New Zealand Green Building Council. Jade often listens in on their lunchtime online information sessions to keep up to date with the fast-moving advancements in building construction sustainability, benefits to the building users, and reducing the impact on the environment for a better future

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architectural Studies
