As our name suggests, we take a simple, straight-forward approach to achieving the highest building quality.

Established in 2005 by Operational Director Jim Stenberg, a local builder with over a quarter of a century of experience in the industry, Jim the Builder has grown to become a leading Canterbury building company, recognised in numerous local and national awards for building excellence.

With a staff of over 40, who are dedicated to providing the best results – every time – for our clients, we work with some of Canterbury’s leading architects, designers and suppliers.

From a small renovation to the largest new home, in any style from character to modern architectural, and anywhere from the hill suburbs to the country, we understand how to achieve the best in the local environment.
