About us
JL Rose are specialists in paving, outdoor tiling and general landscaping, working since 1988 in and around Auckland.
They are based in St Heliers.
With a strong focus on domestic work, John Rose and his staff pride themselves on attention to detail and delivering a service that’s second-to-none. Unlike many contractors, once they are on site they remain therefrom ‘start to finish’. So jobs are done without major downtime and with the bonus of you knowing you’ve got a friendly face to bounce ideas around with. John appreciates that it’s very natural for clients to change plans as projects progress.
That’s also why JL Rose only provides estimates for their work – not quotes. Their aim is to deliver what you desire - and estimates allow the scope to make variations along the way. Sometimes, especially when clients want projects expanded as they see their property coming to life, that’ll mean more work. But jobs are occasionally simpler than assumed and they like to pass those savings back to you too.
With John having subcontracted to a market-leading construction company - where he worked on the likes of the Aotea Centre, the Viaduct Basin, the Botany Town Centre and Britomart – he gained invaluable knowledge in all aspects of outdoor tiling, paving and landscaping. The contacts John gained in his private work since have been invaluable also.
John can now offer a complete package to clients with one call seeing him, in addition to the wide range of skills he and his team have, being able to arrange specialists – like plasterers, plumbers, block layers and electricians - that he knows to share his high standards.

AUCKLAND PAVING & OUTDOOR TILING SERVICES
Domestic Paving, tiling and general landscaping are the three main pillars of the JL Rose operation. They are installers of Terrazzo-Stoneworks Pavers, SSL Limited (Stone Suppliers Albany) and Premier Pavers. The company’s skills are far from restricted to those areas though and include:

- Driveways and entranceways using Basalt pavers and concrete pavers
- Tight access machine with rubber tracks for small excavations, soil moving and section clearing
- Retaining walls, steps and path work with Railway sleepers
- Concrete block walls
- Fencing using Brustics, zincalume and ripple board
- All preparation, laying and rolling of Readylawn
- Sorting soil, irrigation and mowing strips for garden layouts (they are happy to plant what you choose, but are not plant suppliers)
- Taking the strain out of things by completely managing projects and arranging, and overseeing, the necessary specialists to cover the few jobs they do not do themselves
Estimates are provided for all jobs. They’ll arrange to meet you at your property so you can discuss the project onsite and they can make the necessary measurements for pricing, taking into account the likes of site access, gradient and aspect. The estimate includes everything from base course materials to waste removal.
You maintain the flexibility to make material or design changes. Alterations will result in a new estimate being done. A payment schedule will be set and deposits taken at project start, middle, and end. Once you are happy with the pricing, a start date can be arranged.
