James was one of three builders I asked for a quote, to undertake some general house repairs on my wooden villa. James was streets ahead of the other builders I received quotes from. He was a great communicator, he identified other potential issues and raised them with me for consideration about whether I wanted to include them or not (and thankfully he did). He undertook the work pretty much the week later and did it quickly and on budget! James was quick to respond, excellent with his communication in keeping me updated, and had great quality work. He was also trustworthy in that my tenant was happy to leave him a key to undertake some inside work. I’d hire James again if I had any other building related work arise. I used JMC Build Ltd for construction works on our villa. The project involved excavating under the house to add an extra floor, installing a new staircase, then renovating the entire upper floor to add additional bathrooms and reconfigure the layout.

The period of works coincided with the Covid lockdowns and materials shortages, which could have presented serious obstacles to completion of the project, but James managed the added complexities of the process very well so that works were completed within a reasonable time frame, and in time for an event-driven final deadline.

I was very happy with the subcontractors used by JMC and overall I am very pleased with the way that the new floor of the house has been integrated with the 125 year old original space.
