We are designers, not salespeople and so we do things a little differently. As a team our desire is to see your dream come to life. All our joinery is made to measure and the hands that design and build it are part of a happy team that enjoys what they do.

Design
They say the devil is in the details. We provide a full design service, when you meet with our designers your first conversation is focused on understanding your needs.
We design, build and install custom made to measure joinery. If you'd like your cupboards a little deeper, no problem, need extra drawer depth? Let's do it.

Reliability
Our people are our strength. We know it's hard to keep up with all the activity when you're completing a project so we have a dedicated client manager who will keep you in the loop! No question is too small and we pride ourselves on making sure you know when we will be onsite and what's happening, every step of the way.

Local
We are a proudly local company, born and raised here in Newcastle. We don't outsource the manufacture of your kitchen. If you'd like to meet the tradesmen who built your joinery he's right here onsite, we'd love to introduce you.
Being committed to the future growth of the building industry in our local community matters so we employ apprentices locally. Where possible we work with local suppliers and we'd hope you will make the same choice, because local matters
Working With Us
Our process is simple, we focus on design and you our client.
Design
Your first conversation is important, we know that listening carefully at this stage to your ideas, thoughts and concerns is critical to understanding the approach to your specific project. Our designers are available to meet with you onsite at your home or in our showroom and selection centre. Once we have established your needs, we will then share our expert advice and collaborate with you to create an individual design.
If you have engaged an Architect or Interior Designer for your project, our designers have over 25 year's experience in the industry and are confident to work with them on your behalf. So if you're looking for a designer who will be available to meet onsite with your builder to go over the finer details, sure we'd love too.
Selection
Once you have chosen to work with us, and the functional design has been established, we will invite you to our showroom for a selection meeting. The showroom is where you will meet with your designer to finalise colour choices and selections. The showroom has been designed for you to touch and feel, to open and close, to explore the latest in designer storage solutions.
You will see soft close drawer systems, amazing pull out pantries and many different internal hardware options. We have stone on display for your bench top or laminate depending on your preference and price range. You can also consider the other finishing touches like splashbacks, handles and lighting. This is where the story gets exciting.
Custom Made
State of the art technology is used in our office and factory so you can be assured that the design you are after is delivered, with all the fine details.We attend site meetings and ensure clear communication is maintained to meet the brief for your project. Unlike our competitors who may simply sign you up and then leave you to manage the rest of the details, we are here to help. We can take care of as little or as much as you'd like. The beauty to working with a custom joinery company is that there is no cookie cutter joinery here...it can be as individual as you are.
Installation by us
Our qualified installers are employed by Kitchens for Living, they're not sub-contractors. What does this mean for you? It means they care. They are part of the team every week, they don't pop in and out, they come here to our base and work alongside the tradesmen who are building your joinery. They have a place with us and your project is important to all of us here at Kitchens for Living. If you have engaged other trades or have a project manager onsite, our team are comfortable to work alongside them ensuring a good working relationship is maintained.
Personalised Service
We know it's hard to keep up with all the activity when you're planning or completing a project so we have a dedicated client manager who will keep you in the loop! Being available to answer your questions or find answers for you is important and we want you to know that no question is too small. We pride ourselves on making sure you know who will be onsite and whats happening every step of the way. If you have engaged an interior designer or architect, great! We like making new friends and are happy to meet with them at a time that suits you.
Who We Are
Sean Yeomans
Designed his first kitchen over 25 year's ago and since then he has had a healthy obsession with design. After working with other local kitchen manufacturers, Sean saw an opportunity to build a business that offered an end to end client centric experience. Kitchens for Living was initially a design and project management business but In 2014 Sean established the Kitchens for Living manufacturing facility. This bold step has enabled him to offer advanced design, custom detailing and increased control over the products his team installs.
Sean has served the Housing Industry Association for the Hunter region for over 10 years as a member of the regional executive committee. He served as president for a term and is also on the national kitchen and bathroom committee. He has a wealth of industry experience. Kitchens for Living has been acknowledged for their work, being awarded over several years for their design and beautiful custom joinery.
On the weekend you will find Sean relaxing with his family and beloved dog, enjoying Newcastle’s beaches and cafes while keeping his finger on the pulse of all things sport related!

Jason
Our manufacture and installation team is led by Jason Maher. Jason has been working with Kitchens for Living since 2019. He is passionate about detail and ensuring his team have fun in a productive and safe environment.
Everybody loves Jason.
Jayde
Jayde Sams is our client manager, she is the voice of Kitchens for Living and you will hear her smiling through the phone as she answers your call. No problem is too big and nothing rattles Jayde, she keeps the communication flowing well between our office and manufacture team to ensure no details are missed. Jayde is truly a wonderful and very capable human.

Justin
Justin Merry is an award winning kitchen designer with over 25 year's experience. Justin is also a qualified carpenter and joiner so he not only has a keen eye for design, he also understands how building works. He can work with you to ensure functionality and design fit together like a hand in a glove. On the weekend you'll find him enjoying family time, cooking up a feast on his Weber and watching as much sport as possible.

Matt
Having a team with diverse abilities has been critical to the growth and continued future growth of Kitchens for Living. Matthew Moss has been alongside Sean as a draftsman since the early days! However Matt has become far more than that, he is the IT guru that ensures our systems are running well and he also created a brilliant innovative app to manage our client and scheduling systems. Matt is the all rounder at Kitchens for Living, some people are just marvellous and he is certainly one of those people.
Everybody loves Marvellous Matt.
They are many more hands that take part in building your experience with Kitchens for Living, and we won't mention them all, except to say that they are all wonderful, passionate humans who truly bring Kitchens for Living to life.
