Lumen Studio

LUMEN ARCHITECTURE

Lumen is about Architecture that reduces impact on the environment.

Lumen is a multi-award winning commercial, residential & interiors architecture studio, with low energy & water consumption and low environmental impact materials integral to the design.

Our project expertise includes commercial and community buildings, multi-residential apartments and townhouse developments, low income residential and boutique, tailored houses and extensions - with environmental sustainability principles considered from the start.

Beautiful spaces with a strong connection to the external environment, bringing the outside in and using nature to help heat and cool your space.

Watching the movement of the day and seasons... with beauty, intrigue and delight.

SUSTAINABILITY

Lumen provides architectural sustainability consulting for projects large and small, commercial and domestic. Whether its a retro-fit, an upgrade of an existing property, advice during a new build or for a development, Lumen's industry expertise can help reduce the ongoing energy and water consumption in your project.

CONSULTING

The best time to begin considering a project's environmental performance is at project inception, making sure that the design has sustainable 'bones' right from the start. But even if your build is about to begin, advice provided now has the ability to make a significant difference over the building's lifespan, potentially paying for itself many times over.

Julian also regularly tutors & lectures at Adelaide University and the University of South Australia in architectural sustainability subjects and consults to state and local government.

At Lumen, reducing environmental impact goes beyond our designs and built form - it is intrinsic to operations. Office space is currently powered by 100% renewable energy generated on site with excess exported to the grid. Virgin paper use is minimised, that used is 100% recycled content and all waste paper, packaging and consumables are recycled. Being close to the Adelaide CBD means many meetings can be reached without the use of a car.

Sustainability isn't something we expect solely for government to address, it requires all of us to do what we can.
