Masterwood’s fusion of oriental and commercial chic successfully interpreted the design brief for this magnificent Queenstown home. Clean, straight lines, natural materials and earthy tones set the scene. In juxtaposition to traditional Chinese sliding screens separating the kitchen from an informal lounge area, heavy-duty steel box section legs support two islands with a commercial stainless steel kitchen extractor suspended above the chef’s island. The chef’s island has a cantilevered teppanyaki grill mounted in Caesarstone, while the pastry island has an outstanding marble work surface.

A favourite place in the kitchen is the self-contained coffee station affording sweeping views of The Remarkables mountain range. The six-door glass fronted display cabinet effectively distracts the eye from two pantry areas, including a fully equipped butler’s pantry. True to the oriental theme, form and function are in perfect harmony in these pantries.

Our kitchens are sleek and stylish, practical with highly efficient layouts, and we incorporate the latest in design & technology.  Masterwood kitchens are known for intelligent and brilliant hardware innovation hidden behind the beautiful finishes of our cupboard and drawer fronts.

We have a reputation for creating award-winning dream kitchens at the upper end of the market. The fact is, we bring the Wow Factor to all budgets. Staffed by skilled joiners, cabinet makers and CAD/CAM operators, our computer-aided, state-of-the-art production floor is a major contributor to our ability to compete with manufacturers and retailers of mass-produced cabinetry and joinery.

So rather than opting to fit flatpack joinery into your interior, get in touch to see how we can help you create an affordable bespoke kitchen.  Chances are, you'll be surprised at just how affordable custom-made joinery can be when it's by Masterwood Joinery.

Bespoke laundry solutions
With four bedrooms, ensuites and two or more lounges becoming closer to the norm, the average home is today considerably larger than 20 or 30 years ago.

Building costs have also increased encouraging architects and designers to deliver as much useable living space as possible. One of the first savings made has been to eliminate the laundry/utility room. Rather than relegated to a corner of an internal access garage, increasingly the washing machine, clothes dryer and tub are being incorporated into the kitchen.

Intelligent storage solutions
Storage possibilities for the bedroom, bathroom, lounge and laundry.

Masterwood design, manufacturing and installation extends beyond kitchens to the whole of a home or commercial premises. When it is Masterwood it's beautiful on the outside, intelligent inside.  Even in a lounge or bedroom, drawers can be fitted with technology to self open and self close.

• Opening drawers of the display unit will reveal that interiors need not be drab or boring.
• Hidden LED lighting strips that can bring a new dimension to display ornaments
• Wardrobe lift that makes the most of hanging clothes storage in a floor to ceiling wardrobe.
• Fold-away mirrors that bring new meaning to form and function.
• A whole range of European storage solutions that include a laundry hamper, chrome tubing shoe racks, pull out wood veneer shoe rack, pull out tie rack and solid wood drawer organiser.

Built-in furniture is very much part of Masterwood capabilities.

Whether you're looking for an office alcove that among its benefits allows 'walk past, non-intrusive' monitoring of family activity on the computer, or a cocktail cabinet with drawer refrigerator discreetly masked by wood grain panelling we can design, build and install it for you.
