Maunga Designs owner, Rob Camden, will work with you to ensure your architectural design dreams are realised.

Rob has a passion for the outdoors, from mountains to sea and an appreciation of the pleasure and good vibes experienced when enjoying these. He has a view of incorporating good design within the immediate environment to bring those feelings inside.

Rob can provide input based on his professional expertise and experience, helping you to make informed decisions about your design.

DESIGING LIVING SPACES – A PASSION:
I'm Rob Camden, an Architectural Designer and Director of MAUNGA DESIGNS.

I have a passion for the outdoors – from Mountains to Sea. Spent mountaineering in NZ and South America, Scuba diving and instructing in NZ, Australia, Mozambique, Thailand and Myamar. This passion for the outdoors and the immense pleasure and good vibes experienced in nature, has motivated me to incorporate good design within the immediate environment, and to bring those same feelings inside.

I'm originally from the Wairarapa, but have spent a sizeable chunk of my time overseas, and the South Island.

In 2015 I relocated to Waikato working in the Architectural Designer field. After starting out in commercial drafting and design and working mainly in the residential field I became qualified with a National Diploma in Architectural Technology and was proudly awarded the Gordon Hassett Award - Top Student Year 1 Built Environment and the Chow Hill Award – Top Graduating Student. I am a Licensed Building Practitioner – Design 1 (Registered with MBIE), and registered with Architectural Designers New Zealand - ADNZ

Following the purchase of a mid century Cambridge classic home, we commissioned Rob Camden of Maunga Designs to investigate a full exterior/interior renovation . The home in its own right was somewhat ahead of its time for a 70s build but presented in very poor condition . Immediately during our first on site meeting with Rob we felt as though the process would be in safe hands . Having completed a number of new builds and renovations , we were well aware of the big promise small delivery all too common occurrences in building . Rob delivered the initial concept ahead of the agreed time frame and following a few small changes again delivered working plans ahead of time and within budget . The build process itself proved a challenge with plenty of unforeseen issues which required frequent site visits from Rob . His calm and focused approach easily gained the builders confidence and made for an easy communication path . Rob was always available for clarification and any required information . His previous experience in high pressure environments is obvious and can be of huge benefit to clients when the build pressure builds , and they always do ! Although the project faced many difficult times , we are very happy with our new home . The combination of skilled builders and excellent design produced a home to be proud of . Rob will listen to your ideas and provide his input to your project . Again his calm and considered nature is of huge benefit . We fully recommend Rob Camden for your new build, renovation or commercial design.
